Valašsko Day
Steep hillsides, deep forests and potato fields
Welcome to Valašsko. The easternmost Moravian region near the border with Slovakia still retains its unique customs and traditional cuisine.
The region’s low-fertility soil and rich forests form the basis of its dishes. Potatoes, cabbage, buckwheat and mushrooms dominate the menu, and any monotony is dispelled by the cheerful folk names of the dishes.
Try syrnica (a broth with aged cottage cheese, egg and potatoes), kontrabáš with sauerkraut salad (potato and buckwheat pudding) and hruštáky (sweet pear fritters).
Spend some time in Valašsko on March 14 by visiting any of our establishments.
